We have 4 vacancies for registered nurses who are interested in joining a successful Cardio-thoracic Enhanced Recovery team within our cardiothoracic specialty. We have been operating a 4 bedded Post-anaesthetic Ventilation Unit (PAVU) for patients recovering from cardiothoracic surgery. Plans are being drawn to establish a stand-alone Cardio-thoracic Enhanced Recovery Unit based on the models from leading CTS centres and adopt principles of Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) principles.

We need motivated professionals to work within this dedicated hardworking team. If you are a registered nurse, and can demonstrate a high standard of clinical practice and have some post-registration theatre, recovery or cardiac surgery experience, this may be the opportunity for you to join this team and help us expand this initiative and take The Cardio-thoracic Enhanced Recovery Unit forward into the future.

PLEASE NOTE: In cases where a vacancy receives a high number of applications, we may bring the closing date forward. You are therefore advised to submit your completed application as early as possible.

Applicants should note that from 1st December 2013 all new appointments to Hull and East Yorkshire NHS Trust (excluding Medical Staffing appointments) are subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probation period.”

In addition, the Employment Probation Policy is attached to all adverts on NHS Jobs as part of the job pack, in order that prospective candidates are aware of the need to complete a 6 month probation period and also the details of how the policy operates.

For further advice regarding the application process, please contact the Human Resources Reception on 01482 468400.

IMPORTANT: Should your application be successfully shortlisted, you will be contacted to attend an interview electronically to the email address provided at the time of the application. It is important therefore, that you CHECK YOUR EMAILS on a regular basis and respond as necessary.

If you are not contacted by the Trust within six weeks of the closing date of the vacancy, your application will have been unsuccessful on this occasion. We would however like to thank you for the interest you have shown in the Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
