Applications are invited for the post of a Consultant in Cardiac Surgery (with special interest in Aorto-vascular Surgery. The successful candidate will join our team of five Cardiac Surgeons based at Castle Hill Hospital. We provide a comprehensive Tertiary Adult Cardiac and Thoracic Service to a population of 1.2 million people within the catchment areas of Hull, East Yorkshire, North East Lincolnshire and North Yorkshire.

You will provide an adult cardiac surgical service with a special interest in the tertiary care elective and emergency major aorto-vascular surgery for Hull, East Yorkshire, North East Lincolnshire and North Yorkshire. There are further developments including the Pan- Yorkshire Aortic Network for elective and emergency aortic surgery. The on- call commitment will be 1:6. The department has close links with Hull University and Hull and York Medical School with ample opportunities for teaching and research.

You should possess full GMC registration, FRCS (CTh) or equivalent and either already be on the Specialist Register or be within six months of receiving your Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the time of interview. Additional qualifications and experience pertaining to aorto-vascular surgery is essential and are detailed in the job description.
