We are looking to recruit a flexible, enthusiastic, confident individual to join our department as a switchboard and portering/transport helpdesk operator based at Castle Hill Hospital.
For this role we are looking for experienced operators who can commit to a shift pattern. The switchboard is a 24 hour service that runs 7 days a week. This job would suit candidates who enjoy the flexibility of working unsocial hours. The shift patterns include days, lates, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
The successful candidate will act as a first point of contact for Hull University Teaching Hospitals providing an effective, efficient and professional service.
Candidates must possess a high level of customer service and communication skills, work as a team and be fully conversant in computer and keyboard skills. The ability to multi-task, delegate and co-ordinate is required as part of the operator role.
You will be expected to deal with emergency calls and a variety of alarms and alerts in a calm and efficient manner.
Previous NHS experience in a similar role would be advantageous
**Salary reflects year 2 of 3 years NHS pay deal
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
