COMMUNITY LIAISON OFFICER – HEPATITIS C SERVICES

FULL TIME – 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK

BAND 4

TEMPORARY 2 YEAR CONTRACT

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual with appropriate experience to join a dynamic Hepatitis service team. The successful applicant will be part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency team, working in partnership with service users, carers and other agencies to support a smooth pathway for patients with Hepatitis C from diagnosis through to treatment.

You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team providing a range of care packages and care programmes e.g. oral swabs, dried blood spot sampling and venepuncture blood sample collection as well as fibroscanning of patients. The post holder will work within a variety of settings including prisons, homeless hostels and outreach clinics assisting with the increase of referrals, screening and completion of treatments.  You will hold a diploma in a healthcare discipline or demonstrable experience of working with hard to engage patient groups.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
