The post will cover both aspects of Patient Meals Service, the hours will be worked within Ward Catering and the Patient Meals Distribution unit.
Various shift patterns from 6.00am through to 6.30pm.
Post - 28.5 hours per week
The working hours will be on a rotation of shifts between a four week period that will cover both Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital. This will include weekday, weekends and public holiday working.
The successful post holder will have planned shifts, but these are subject to change and any changes would be verbally agreed with line managers during roster planner.
To provide a full range of high quality ward catering services including the regeneration and attractive presentation of a wide range of cook-freeze food items.
You must be able to demonstrate good customer care skills, and have a basic knowledge of food service and food hygiene.
Flexibility to work between Castle Hill Hospital and Hull Royal Infirmary.
To assist in the provision of a comprehensive and cost-effective catering service that meets the needs of patients, staff and visitors, and fulfills the objectives of the Trust.
Duties will include assisting in the storage, preparation, production, packaging and distribution of patient meals menu items including driving a Trust vehicle both on and off Trust sites.
To assist in the accurate and timely packing of patient meals shuttles and insulated food boxes in a food safe environment
To undertake a wide range of general kitchen hygiene duties.
To work in accordance with Food Hygiene Regulations, Codes of Practice for Caterers and all relevant Trust Policy documents.
The post holder is required to hold a full UK driving licence and may be asked to drive a company vehicle as part of the duties. Please detail your driving status within the supporting information section when completing your application form.
Please note: The role does involve physical work in an area with varying temperatures - suitable candidates will be shown the area of work as part of the interview process.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
