This new post is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive Gastroenterology Department at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals Trust. You will join the current 11 Consultant Gastroenterologists providing high quality Gastroenterology and Hepatology care to a population of over 550,000 in Hull and East Yorkshire, and tertiary care services to a wider catchment area of 1.2 million.

The department has established expertise in IBD, Hepatology and therapeutic endoscopy. There are 2 busy endoscopy units (8 rooms) which are JAG and bowel cancer screening accredited. Endoscopic training is a strong focus of the department, which is also home to the renowned East Yorkshire School of Endoscopy. The Departments of Gastroenterology, Upper GI Surgery and Colorectal Surgery share the same Health Group and form an integrated Digestive Diseases Service with close working relationships, including joint clinics and various MDTs. We have a well-established research team and an active research portfolio with particular interests in IBD and Hepatology.

Most subspecialties are available within the department and most clinical interests can be accommodated for the suitable candidate.

Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals Trust is committed to delivery of safe, high quality care and excellent patient experience. The Trust is a major partner in the Hull York Medical School (HYMS) providing teaching and training to medical students throughout the year.

To succeed you must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience in all aspects of general gastroenterology and competence diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy.
