CONSULTANT IN NEONATES 2 POSTS (10 PA’S EACH)
Post 1 - Neonatal Consultant (Echocardiography Skills)
Post 2 - Neonatal Consultant
We are looking for innovative colleagues who are ready for a new challenge and who are prepared to contribute to shaping the future at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. We have exciting opportunities for enthusiastic candidates to work as Consultants in Neonates in an expanding service. We want candidates to share our passion and to drive forward changes for the care of Neonates.
We would welcome applications from candidates who have the skills to undertake Neonatal Echocardiography or who are interested in fully participating in the development of a follow up service for infants at high risk of neurodevelopmental problems.
These 2 posts include replacement of a retiring consultant and a new post as further expansion of the consultant body. Successful candidates would join a dynamic team of Neonatologists at the Hull Women’s and Children’s Hospital on the Hull Royal Infirmary site. This hospital was opened in 2003 and is one of the group of hospitals comprising the Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. The hospital provides comprehensive tertiary services for Hull and East Yorkshire which has an extended population of approximately 1.2 million with approximately 6,000 deliveries per year in the hospital. The Hull Neonatal Service is a key partner in the Yorkshire Neonatal Operation delivery Network together with 3 other tertiary centres and is one of the 2 surgical units in the northern part of the network.
Hull is changing and is not only a great place to work but also to live. Hull was the UK’s City of Culture for 2017. A hub for music festivals, nightlife, restaurants, theatres and bars, with world class visitor attractions and famous sports teams, this is a great and affordable place to work, play, live and unwind.
Both the City of Hull and the nearby market town of Beverley are ancient Boroughs of considerable interest. The surrounding areas are beautiful with many attractive villages where land and housing prices are relatively modest compared to other similar areas of the UK. Hull was very much rebuilt after heavy bombing in World War II and is, therefore, a modern as well as an historic City. There is an attractive Yacht Marina and an international ice rink and there is a good choice of theatre and concert programmes, at both the New Theatre and Spring Street Theatre within the city centre.
Visits and general expressions of interest by both telephone and email are welcome.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
