Rotational Pharmacist - Band 6 post

Looking for a challenge, looking for an opportunity to develop?........
Hull & East Yorkshire Hospitals may be the answer.

Hull & East Yorkshire Hospitals is located on two main sites: Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill hospital. On the Hull Royal site there is a brand new Emergency Care facility for both adults and children amongst a range of specialties. At the Castle Hill Hospital site, the Oncology and Haematology Centre provides specialised care to 1.2 million patients from across the region.

The Pharmacy team is both ambitious and motivated, focusing our work around the best interests of our patients and continually striving to improve the services we offer. Currently some of the key projects include

• Expansion of Pharmacist prescribing
• New ways of working to support safe & effective discharge
• Introduction of electronic prescribing
• Working beyond the hospital, specifically in support of patients in care homes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team of Band 6 pharmacists. The role is primarily ward based with opportunities to rotate through different clinical areas including Medical Elderly, Stroke, Neurology, Endocrinology, Surgery (both acute and specialist), Cardiology, Respiratory and Renal Medicine. HEY Hospitals is a supportive environment and assistance is available from a range of experienced and specialist senior pharmacists. In each specialist group there are named mentors who will support you throughout your rotations.

As part of this post you will be supported to undertake the Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice at the University of Bradford.

You will provide a clinical pharmacy service to allocated wards and offer advice to medical, nursing, and patients on all aspects of the safe & effective use of medicines. This includes facilitating reconciliation, discharge planning and patient counselling. The pharmacy team has a wide range of qualified staff including technicians who will assist you in your day to day role, as well as assistants and apprentices who provide additional support to wards and patients.

We strongly recommend applicants make contact prior to application.
