If you are qualified or soon to be physicians associate, on the voluntary register and looking for  acute health care experience in a large multi-specialty trust then Hull & East Yorkshire NHS Trust would like to hear from you.

We are offering the opportunity for motivated, enthusiastic individuals to be the first cohort of physicians associates for the trust. The first two years of employment will form a preceptorship program consisting of rotational posts as follows:

Family and Women’s health (2 Rotational Posts)

Potential clinical areas for rotation

  • Paediatrics
  • Breast Surgery
  • Plastic Surgery
  • ENT Surgery
  • Gynaecology
  • Neonatology

 

Medicine and surgery (6 Rotational Posts):

Potential clinical areas for rotation

 

  • Acute Medicine
  • Elderly Medicine
  • Upper GI Surgery
  • Colorectal Surgery
  • Urology
  • Vascular Surgery
  • Trauma and Orthopaedics

 

Clinical support (2 Rotational Posts):

Potential clinical areas for rotation

 

  • Haematology
  • Oncology
  • Infectious diseases
  • Rehabilitation medicine

The education, training, competency development and onward development of the roles will form part of the trusts medical education program and be aligned with the junior doctors in training. The trust already has 40 advanced clinical practitioners that are training and developing as part of the medical workforce. At the end of the two year period post holders will be slotted into a static post for onward specialisation.

This is an exciting opportunity and we are therefore looking for individuals that want to excel as a critical member of our medical teams. Agenda for change terms and conditions will apply and the posts will be band 7.
