The Lung Cancer Multi-disciplinary team (MDT) based at Hull Royal Infirmary and the Queens Oncology Centre at Castle Hill Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic individual to work as a Lung Cancer Care Coordinator to work within the Macmillan Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) team.
The Macmillan Lung Cancer clinical nurse specialists work closely with the Respiratory Consultants and Oncologists and other members of the MDT to provide a holistic service for this client group.
The Lung Cancer Care Co-ordinator will work under the direction of the Macmillan Lung Cancer specialist nursing team to provide advice, support and care for individuals who are being investigated or treated for a lung cancer. They will have direct contact with patients and their carers providing advice and ongoing support to this client group.
The post holder will also liaise with other members of the Lung Cancer MDT to ensure that patients and carers receive the information and care they require in a timely manner. The post will also be involved in the development of services for Lung Cancer patients and their carer’s, alongside the CNSs.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and pro-active individual who is open to learning and developing new ways of working within an established team. Furthermore, an individual who has an understanding of the challenges of working with people who have complex health needs. The post holder must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills.

** Salary relates to year 2 of 3 year NHS pay deal
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
