NEVER WORKED AS A BAND 3 DIETETIC ASSISTANT BEFORE? WE CAN FAST TRACK FROM A BAND 3 DIETETIC ASSISTANT TO BAND 4 DIETETIC ASSISTANT PRACTITIONER
WANT A SPRINGBOARD INTO A POTENTIAL CAREER IN NUTRITION AND DIETETICS?
The Nutrition & Dietetic Department is a large forward thinking department based across 2 acute hospital sites and is currently managed in 6 teams. We are looking to fill the following posts:
At Hull Royal Infirmary – 2.5wte Band 4 to support acute medical wards, critical care, respiratory wards, digestive diseases and medical elderly.
At Castle Hill Hospital – 1.5wte Band 4 to support the surgical and oncology wards, critical care and the head & neck outpatient service
Successful candidates who have previously worked as a Band 3 Dietetic Assistant will be supported through your Band 4 Dietetic Assistant Practitioner competencies.
For successful candidates who have never worked as a Band 3 Dietetic Assistant will undertake our progression programme over 12 months of competencies and learning as a Band 3 Dietetic Assistant. If you can provide sufficient evidence at the end of 12 months (please see attached the additional information if you are interested in this) you can progress onto become a Band 4 Dietetic Assistant Practitioner.
The post holder will be working in a multi-disciplinary environment and supporting patients’ inpatient nutritional needs. There is also potential that the successful candidates will support some of our outpatient services.
Once established in post, our vision will be to develop our Band 4 workforce by developing rotations plus we will support those who wish to become a registered dietitian.

Hull University Teaching Hospitals provide a comprehensive range of acute services from two hospital sites with an extended catchment population of 1.3 million people. The department has strong links with the Universities of Hull and York, Leeds Beckett University and with the British Dietetic Association.
