Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) is seeking to recruit two experienced Operations Directors, one to lead our Clinical Support Health Group and one to lead our Medicine Health Group.

As a Senior Manager in the organisation and a member of the triumvirate for the Health Group, led by the Medical Director, you will have a wide and varied portfolio of services. Clinical Support Health Group offers Imaging, Specialist Services, Oncology, Haematology, Pathology and Therapy and Therapeutics and the Medicine Health Group offers General and Acute Medicine specialties but also Specialist Services such as Cardiology, Neurology and Stroke.  

Our aim is to ensure every patient receives high quality, safe and responsive care irrespective of their age, social status and/or the time of day, day of the week that they access our services.

Applicants will require exceptional leadership qualities, a commercial acumen, strong relationship management skills, a strong business understanding and credibility. You will be passionate about improvement and influencing change, you will be a natural leader who will facilitate and support collaborative working both internally and externally to the Trust, to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent understanding of the acute hospital system, performance and quality standards. You will have expertise of managing significant services in a provider setting and be ready for your next big opportunity and relish the new challenge. You will be a motivated leader with highly developed influencing and negotiating skills.

The post holders will be in a unique position to respond to the needs of the Health Group, offering support and direction to ensure delivery of the key challenges, and ultimately, be accountable for operational success. The Operations Director will also be responsible for the development and delivery of the Health Group service strategy, annual business plan and all key performance standards including robust financial planning and management.

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust provides a comprehensive range of acute services with specialised services aimed at an extended catchment area of 1.3 million people.

The Trust has a budget in excess of £610 million, employs a workforce of over 9,000 staff and is committed to continuous improvement of services to provide great care for patients and their families.
