Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Hull University Teaching Hospital, Women’s & Children’s Hospital

 Band 8a , 1.0 WTE

Women’s and Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within Hull University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust is a 26 bedded Level 3 Tertiary Unit which is part of the Yorkshire Neonatal Network. The Neonatal Unit comprises of 5 Intensive Care, 7 High Dependency and 14 Special Care cots. We provide highly skilled neonatal care including High frequency Oscillation ventilation, Nitrous oxide therapy and therapeutic hypothermia for babies of 22 weeks and above. Hull’s NICU is also a center for providing neonatal surgery.

We are a large and very friendly team which prides itself on offering excellent care to the vulnerable babies on the unit whilst supporting each other. The successful applicant would become part of an established team of 4 ANNP’s/Trainee ANNP.

Additionally we provide a 4 bedded Transitional care unit within the post-natal ward primarily run by the neonatal nursing team. The ANNP role will support the running of this service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, innovative and highly skilled ANNP to join our team. Within the team clinical care is our expertise whilst optimizing patient outcome and contributing to a positive family experience. ANNP’s currently work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to promote skilled excellence in neonatal care, training and education, unit initiatives, supporting the medical rota, managing staff and play a key part in service development.

The successful candidate will be a dedicated clinical expert with evidence of an ANNP qualification, teaching experience and management skills. They need to have a passion for high quality patient care within neonates, well-developed communication & relationship skills and a positive, mature and professional attitude.
