The Nuclear Medicine Department provides a clinical service based on diagnostic and therapeutic applications of radioactive materials. The work is currently carried out on two hospital sites, Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital. The service includes an on site radiopharmacy, three double headed gamma cameras, two with CT facilities, and a therapy suite.

The department is busy and work is varied including in-vivo and in-vitro techniques.

The hours of work are 5 days per week on a rota between the hours of 07.30-20.00. Radiopharmacy commitment early in the morning will be necessary so flexibility is essential.

Competency in aseptic area preparation, radioactive waste handling procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements, contamination monitoring or iv skills would be an advantage but full training would be given to the successful candidate if necessary.

The post holder will be a key member of the Nuclear Medicine team and will have direct contact with patients, medical, technical and other staff. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are therefore essential.
