Paediatric Medical Ward

Hull Royal Infirmary, Hull University Hospitals NHS Trust, Family & Women’s Health Group

 Full / Part time posts to work weekdays, weekends, bank holidays and nights to meet the needs of the service

An exciting opportunity has arisen for children’s nurses to join our ward team and would be suitable for newly qualified staff or those with some post registration experience. We are looking for keen enthusiastic nurses to join our busy paediatric medical ward / assessment unit.

Our philosophy is to work closely with families in a friendly environment with a commitment to the provision of high quality patient care. The successful applicants will have a positive and progressive attitude, have excellent communication skills and be committed to the HEY NHS Trust Vision and Values. We are looking for people who are motivated to learn and have a desire to work as part of a dynamic team.

Ward 130 is a busy 20 bedded medical ward providing care to children aged 0-16 years with a wide range of acute and chronic medical condition. We work closely with the multidisciplinary team and with tertiary hospitals in the region to ensure children receive a high standard of care and effective treatment close to home. The Paediatric assessment unit works alongside the medical ward taking referrals from ED, GP’s, and community and specialist nurses. Children are assessed; reviewed by a Paediatrician, undergo investigations and initial care and treatment commenced.

There are great development opportunities to suit your individual needs including;

  • In-house training/competency programme
  • PILS training (internal)
  • Mentorship programme
  • Rotational opportunities

If you are keen to work closely with sick children and their families, are forward thinking and a team player, we would love to hear from you.
