Hello, we are Hull University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust (HUTH). HUTH is an extraordinary place to undertake an award winning apprenticeship programme. We have helped many local people gain invaluable experience of working in the NHS today, along with a nationally recognised qualification.
What is the role?
We are looking for a remarkable candidate for our 13-month Apprenticeship (Level 2) within the stores area of our pathology department to provide efficient and effective support. Applicants must be able to work to a high standard with attention to detail, be able to communicate effectively with staff and patients, and perform duties accurately. This will include assisting, receiving and checking of deliveries, use a computerised stock control system, and provide reception cover as required.
Who are we looking for?
The post will be demanding so we are looking for candidates who are ready for the challenge and share our values of care, honesty, and accountability. You will need to be able to demonstrate good communication and team working skills. Previous work experience in a customer service environment or of handing stock is desirable but not essential.
Eligibility and entry requirements
Applicants need to hold a minimum of 3 GCSE grades A*-C including a minimum Level 2 in Numeracy (GCSE Grade C/4 or above) and Level 1 Literacy (GCSE Grade D/3 or above). You must be aged 16 or over and have been resident in the UK/EU for the last three years.
The successful candidate will work towards the Support Services in Healthcare Level 2 framework. This is delivered by our preferred training provider for this qualification, HYA Training. Candidates who are shortlisted for the role will be invited to an assessment day at our pathology laboratories where they will find out more about the role as well as participate in work-related activities and assessments.
During your 13 month apprenticeship you will be gaining valuable, transferable skills and experiences that will enable you to apply for further jobs/posts in both in the NHS and other sectors.
