Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust

Speech & Language Therapy Department

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to work in a large regional teaching Trust and to join the Speech & Language Therapy (SLT) Team working in Stroke and Neurology.

Specialist Speech & Language Therapist (Stroke & Neurology)

Band 6: Full-time, permanent

Based primarily at Hull Royal Infirmary, this is an excellent opportunity for a developing therapist to move into a more senior role within a dynamic and supportive Department. You will be responsible for a case-load of in-patients from stroke and neurology, and play a key part in shaping SLT services in neurology.

You will have sound clinical skills in the assessment and treatment of acquired swallowing and communication disorders. Experience in stroke and neurology is required. Some experience of critical care would be an advantage but training can be provided.

You will be supported by the Clinical Lead SLT for Stroke and Neurology and, where necessary, Clinical Lead colleagues in Acute Medicine and Trauma Rehabilitation. You will also have access to other SLT’s working in a variety of in-patient and out-patient settings.

For further information please contact Jill Snape (Clinical Lead Speech & Language Therapist for Stroke and Neurology) or Elizabeth Nelson (Acting Head of Speech & Language Therapy) on 01482-604331 or via email:
