This post provides an exciting opportunity to work within a friendly department at Hull Royal Infirmary - a busy major trauma centre with a large number of sub specialities including paediatrics and spines. This job would suit doctors working towards joining a training programme or towards gaining certification via alternative route. The department offers excellent educational/training opportunities in theatre and clinics as well as designated teaching sessions on a weekly basis to help prepare for FRCS TR & Orth examination.

As a Trust Doctor working with Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, you will be entitled to receive the following:

• A named Educational Supervisor
• 10 Study Days Leave per annum
• £500 of Study Leave Allowance per annum
• Access to an e-portfolio
• An assigned Appraiser and access to Multi-Source Feedback 360° (if required) and an Appraisal System

Applicants must hold full GMC registration and have achieved CT2 level competencies within Trauma and Orthopaedics. Applicants should also possess the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, have good interpersonal skills, have a caring attitude towards patients and evidence of good clinical practice.

This post has a varied timetable, which includes clinical commitments and elective operating lists. The post-holder will be responsible for the care of both elective Orthopaedic and Trauma inpatients as well as acute admissions via A&E and fracture clinics. There are excellent educational opportunities within the department and research is actively encouraged. You will be assigned an educational/clinical supervisor during your time with us.

IMPORTANT: Should your application be successfully shortlisted, you will be contacted to attend an interview electronically to the email address provided at the time of the application. It is important therefore, that you CHECK YOUR EMAILS/NHS JOBS ACCOUNT on a regular basis and respond as necessary.

If you are not contacted by the Trust within six weeks of the closing date of the vacancy, your application will have been unsuccessful on this occasion. We would however like to thank you for the interest you have shown in the Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
