Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead (Workforce)

Band 7, salary £38,890 to £44,503 dependant on knowledge, skills and experience

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Equality, Diversity and Inclusion professional to join our Workforce and Development team.

The Trust is fully committed to building a truly diverse and inclusive workforce and this is an exciting time for a passionate, driven and Remarkable Person to join our Extraordinary Place. As the equality, diversity and inclusion champion for the Trust, you will have the energy and passion to positively drive change, challenge and influence behaviours, practices and perceptions and play a fundamental role in the development of a truly diverse and inclusive workforce.

You will have highly developed specialist knowledge of workforce issues, law and legislation relating to equality, diversity and inclusion, obtained through a masters in a relevant field or equivalent experience or through a degree and professional qualification in a relevant field plus additional training or equivalent experience.

With demonstrable experience of implementing equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives and training to meet national and local frameworks, together with experience of communicating with and influencing a diverse range of organisations and people, you will help raise the profile of the Trust’s equality, diversity and inclusion agenda.

You will have an interesting and varied portfolio, including making a significant contribution to the creation and development of Trust’s workforce equality, diversity and inclusion strategies, plans and  annual work programme;, being the ‘go to’ Trust expert for workforce related equality, diversity and inclusion queries; developing inclusive staff led networks etc.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the proven ability to constructively challenge and influence a range of stakeholders. Essential to the role will be the capability to create and maintain excellent working relationships with staff, managers and staff side partners. You will have a strong customer service approach with the ability and confidence to advise managers and staff on all aspects of equality, diversity and inclusion. You will be forward thinking, innovative, solution focussed and resilient.

You will be confident working autonomously using your own initiative and prioritising, whilst recognising the value and importance of collaborative working and being a good team player.
