Band 4 Associate Practitioner

 Full time 37.5 hours/week

A vacancy has arisen within the microbiology laboratory for an enthusiastic and dedicated Associate Practitioner to join the team and play an important role in the day to day running of the laboratory.

The successful applicant will carry out basic microbiology tasks, working directly with the scientific laboratory staff. The main duties include assisting in the processing of samples, detection of MRSA, basic molecular testing, enzyme immunoassay, identification and susceptibility testing and other general duties which may involve some lifting and handling. Laboratory experience is essential, as are some keyboard skills. The successful candidate should possess a good secondary education to AS level (or equivalent), NVQ3 or a foundation degree. Laboratory experience is essential.

The post is full time (37½ hours per week) with the core hours being 8:30 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday, with late nights 11:30am to 8pm, weekends and bank holidays are also worked on a rostered basis..

The department is well equipped and situated on the Hull Royal Infirmary site.
