This post offers the rare opportunity to join the Pain Management Team. We are looking to recruit a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join the team in a development role. On completion of a Pain Management Development Package, and evidence of successful management of a caseload, the post holder will progress to a Band 6 role. Please see the additional document for information regarding the Band 6 role.
The Pain Management Team covers the sites at Hull Royal Infirmary, Castle Hill Hospital and the Beverley Community Hospital and members of the team are expected to work on all sites. The team undertakes specialised individual patient reviews and treatments and provides education for all members of the multi-disciplinary team. The post involves working autonomously at times. The post involves working week day shifts Monday to Friday.
We are looking to appoint an individual with post-registration experience as a nurse working in an acute setting. You should be able to demonstrate an up to date knowledge of pain management. Ideally you should have undertaken a link nurse role, in pain management or work in an area where pain management forms a key part of patient care. You must be able to demonstrate evidence of continued professional development, and ideally be a graduate. As education forms a large part of this role it is essential that you are able to provide evidence of teaching in your current role. We are looking for someone who is able to work independently and within a team, able to prioritise their workload effectively and is able to deliver care in a dynamic way. You should possess good communication skills and be able to work effectively with the multi disciplinary team.
In return for this the team is committed to provide a training package tailored to meet the needs of the individual.
** Salary relates to year 2 of 3 year NHS pay deal
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
