Junior Charge Nurse
Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Day Surgery Unit is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and compassionate Junior Charge Nurse to join a busy and dynamic team.
The successful applicant will be expected to rotate into the ward, pre assessment, operating theatre and PACU
The post holder is responsible for ensuring the effective running of the department, providing clinical leadership and managerial support in the absence of the Charge Nurse, working as a highly skilled member of the multidisciplinary perioperative team, practising a high standard of clinical care and being key to improve the patient’s experience. The post holder will supervise the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care during their span of duty and support and encourage the concept of team working, team development and collaboration between team members.
You will need to be prepared to work within a busy environment and be forward thinking and passionate about delivering a high standard of care.
Applicants should have an enthusiastic approach to teaching students and junior members of staff. You must be a team player, working closely with your fellow Band 6 colleagues and have a flexible attitude to meet the service needs.
The Day Surgery Service presently operates between the hours of 07:30 to 19:30 Monday to Friday, and is closed on Bank Holidays (although we are currently reviewing our opening times, which may be extended to include weekend working and work in the main theatre department at Christmas and new year). The hours are flexible to suit the requirements of the service.
